Hidden from the tourist eye, here in the centre of Minori lies an undiscovered treasure trove of Roman antiquities. The Villa Romana, an archeological site of 1st century, stood in the bay of Minori as a seaside villa. This site has recently been excavated and the way the villa has been restored and preserved is quite remarkable. It almost looks brand new! The Villa Romana in Minori is a hidden gem on the Amalfi Coast that costs NOTHING to go in to explore.
Donations to the work is optional. This however I feel is needed as the archeologists have done such an incredible job with their excavating and the Minori community opening it up for the public to see is such a wonderful honour.
Enjoy these photos and feel for a moment that you have been taken back through time and space to the Villa Romana!.
