Linley Valley (Cell Phone Photos)

Holy guacamole! Today marks one of the happiest days for me in Nanaimo so far. Why is that, you may ask. Well, Rileigh had heard from a friend at work about Linley Valley, a nice place to hike, and also very close to where we live. Today we decided to seek it out. We were delighted to find that only a five minute walk from our house were miles and miles of trails and hills (very reminiscent of Mount Doug or Mount Work).

I was getting a bit discouraged with our neighborhood, because in Victoria it was always easy to walk somewhere for a nice hike. We were a bit spoiled when we lived at the base of Mount Doug I guess. Anyways, knowing now that we have somewhere we don't need to drive to in order to get some real good nature and some real good walking definitely improves my view of living in Nanaimo.

Yay!

Sorry for the cell phone photos. Also, can someone please tell me if I'm going overboard with the contrast on these? My laptop screen is really washed out and making them look good on my screen sometimes makes them look insane on other screens.

What a beautiful area! In my opinion the contrast is not too much, but at the same time it isn't totally natural. So I guess it depends on what you are going for. I think they are very stunning.
