Saturday was a fun filled day! Since it was pouring out first thing in the morning we decided it was the perfect day to spend seeing some of the indoor sites. We started off by visiting Dublinia (the history of medieval Dublin) and Christchurch Cathedral. We followed it up with a visit to Kilmainham Gaol Museum and the Old Jameson Distillery before heading back to the hotel and freshening up and heading back out for more drinks. A busy day but a very memorable and enjoyable one!

First thing on Saturday we headed to Dublinia (an exhibit on medieval Dublin)… Brett tried on this helmet for a photo op. Afterthought: who knows who tried that thing on… *shudders*

Heading along the bridge from Dublinia to Christchurch Cathedral

Breathtaking Christchurch Cathedral

Arriving at Kilmainham Gaol (Jail) Museum. I'd definitely recommend this as a place to visit if you head over to Dublin! So much history! … roll over for details

In the jail's chapel - the start of the tour! The altar is original to the jail - built by an inmate

Looking into one of the cells via a hole in the door

The newer wing… incredible with the sound of the wind whistling through the wing… crazy and creepy!

A restored painting in the cell of the Mrs. Joseph Plunkett - very cool

In the stone breakers yard - the cross signifies where the majority of inmates were executed

Arriving at The Old Jameson Distillery late in the afternoon - still without any lunch

Waiting in line for tickets checking out the architecture

While Brett enjoyed a traditional Irish Coffee, I had an Irish Hot Chocolate while we waited for our guided tour to begin

The view over the entrance from the restaurant after our guided tour

The Custom House at night (again)

Heading out for some Saturday night drinks

Great set. I especially liek the shot of the cell through the spy hole. Very atmospheric.
