Weekly Theme 4

by Leslie D August. 28, 2016 1902 views

This week's theme is Local Markets. Anyone can join in! You can learn more about it by clicking HERE.

While visiting my sister in Plant City, FL, she brought me to the weekend Farmer's Market. She knew I would be amazed, and I was!

I loved how this guy presented his peppers!

How could I not buy a watermelon from this friendly man?

Have you ever seen such a sight?

One of each, please!

Thank you Amy. It's not every day you see a truckload of peppers!

WoW what a lot of produce to sell I suppose in proportion to the people living in the big city!!!
Great captures , love the last one.

I think they move around through the week to different markets...but I can't be sure about that! The guy with the truckload of peppers is pretty mobile - lol!
Thanks, Moira...it was a feast for my eyes.

If they are anything like our markets here in Italy they will move around, as each town has their day for markets , which are usually held in the main squares and surrounding streets.

Thanks, Mx! Florida is a beautiful place to visit, but I would not want to live there...

Wow, this area must have really rich soil to have such crops.
I have added the smiling vendor to my favorites. Beautiful capture of his proud smile
Thank you for sharing Leslie

Thank you, Ram! Even though Plant City is an agricultural mecca, it's named after railroad developer Henry Plant. Plant City is also known as the strawberry capitol of the world.
I stepped way out of my comfort zone, photographing strangers here.Turns out, all I had to do was ask!

Thanks for sharing that info. I find the same issue with clicking strangers. I managed to ask just one person on this trip https://www.photoblog.com/canon6d/2016/08/25/st-lawrence-market-photowalk/ I immediately felt good about it . The impression I captured was much better than the other shots I took without them knowing.
