2016 is now in the past, but what a whirlwind of a year! Last year was definitely a changing year for Kiara Keaton Photography, and I am so grateful for how it all played out. My boyfriend Matthew helped me plan things out better financially, and made me a bit more organized (I didn't think that was possible!!), and it's led me to a bigger, brighter future going into this new year! I definitely gained a lot more confidence in my work - because let's face it - we all have self doubt in our work. Are we good enough? Is this what I want to do for the rest of my life? But with a lot of self love, and confidence from the loved ones around me, I got out of my funk and realized, I love what I do, and I never want to change that!
In 2016 I ended the year with eight weddings, and 92 sessions. So 100 lovely days with clients all together! I got to team up, and officially make a wedding package with one of my best photographer friends, Sufia Huq! We also decided to do another year of Christmas mini sessions together, and those four days were so much fun!! It's always better working with someone you admire! I am so grateful for all of the amazing new people I met, the reoccurring clients that I adore who came back for more, and future clients that have booked me to capture their memories for 2017!
So going into this new year, after having the same prices for two years, I have decided to raise my prices. It weighed on my mind for so long, but it's definitely for the best for the future of KKP, and my amazing clients! I thank all of you who have encouraged me to make this decision, and gave me the confidence to do so!
With all of this being said, I've got a feeling it's going to be a great year, and if we just so happen to meet along the way - I can't wait to work with you! I hope you all had a fantastic start to your new year and I can't wait to see what 2017 has in store for all of us!
A couple of goals I've got for the new year!
- Get more organized with scheduling sessions
- Working on my time management with editing!!
- I'll be working toward getting new equipment
- because it's long overdue, and my baby is at retirement age!
- Gain more confidence in shooting weddings
- I'll be doing non refundable retainers for all of my sessions now
- no session will be held without this paid!
- And last but not least, BLOG!
- I'm really going to try you guys! I'm not the best with words, but I'm giving it my best shot!
