I never look for the ‘perfect’ flower. I am not interested in hot house hybrids that are engineered into perfection. I look for the broken, the bug eaten, the faded, the dying…little portraits of the human soul. Small reflections of what we are and what we ultimately can be.

Last year I was as stripped down as this flower. Most everything was taken away. It was the best thing in the world for a nice woman to have her ego shattered. My life is richer in its present simplicity. Richer in the things that matter.
