#03 Tonga snorkelling with humpbacks!

Wow what a first day. Finding a friendly whale to snorkel with is never easy. a typical day on the boat is like: depart at 8AM and search for the whales till 3 or 4PM. you spend all the time searching for splashes, fins, breaches etc. most of the time you see nothing.

this day started very slow. we saw very few whales, and those we saw were very shy (like most). BUT at around noon our skipper spotted a mother and a calf and an escort looking very promising, and WOW this was it! AMAZING

Have a look at this video to see what it was like :)

So we headed for lunch. Afterwards we came back to see if they are still there and yess! even beteer than before! we spent almost an hour in the water with them. the calf was so curious. swam next to us doing barrel rolls, fin splashing etc. AMAZING!

Oh wow! Our skipper said this experience was the best of the season :) It doesnt get better than that! Agree
