Toad in Th' Hole....

…A great simple but filling meal using sausages and batter, it can be served with pan fried cabbage, baked beans or chips but a must is some thick beefy gravy

The Raw Ingredients….Sausages

sliced mushrooms and onions
Yorkshire Pudding Batter…
1/2 pint of milk
2 eggs
4oz plain flour
salt, pepper,dried oregano

Heat the oven to gas Mk 6, cover the base of the dish with oil or (if you are a true Northener) beef dripping and place in the oven untill the oil/fat is smoking hot

Fry off the sausages then throw in the mushrooms and onions

Remove the hot dish from the oven, place in the sausages, top with the onion,mushroom mix then gently pour over the batter…if the oil doesn't sizzle its not hot enough… put back in the oven and cook for approximatly 20 minutes

Toad in Th' Hole…….Done
