There is something magical about long exposures and night photography. It is so exciting to take photos of a seemingly dark scene and then getting something much better!
My approach to capturing the night sky was to include the clouds and bamboo to give perspective to the photo. I love how the clouds turned out! The movement in the clouds adds a very cool dynamic component to the shot.
It was not easy to focus on the stars but I did it! I experimented with the shutter-speed and ISO to get the stars bright but without star trails. I got this one at around 40 seconds to keep the stars uniform.

I like the night. Without the dark, we'd never see the stars. ~ Stephenie Meyer
