Day 108: Self Portrait

by Ivan Steenkamp April. 21, 2017 1206 views

As the sun was setting I thought it would be nice to do a self-portrait. The sunlight was a bit harsh so I got an old curtain and hung it up outside as a diffusion panel. I set the camera up on my tripod and used the self timer. It was tricky getting sharp focus on my eyes.

The curtain did a really good job of softening the light, don't you think?

My self portrait. Kind face and blond hair. the light is very soft on my face.

Composition rules used: Depth of Field, Golden Ratio.

Metadata: D5300, 50mm ƒ/1.8 G, ƒ/2.5, 1/250, ISO-100.

Lighting: Sunset (Golden Hour) light through white curtain.

Editing: Photoshop, Camera Raw, Color Efex Pro.

Every job is a self-portrait of the person who did it. Autograph your work with excellence. ~ Jessica Guidobono
