How I Am Getting Back In Touch With My Inner Self Again

Each year, every day of our lives we learn something new to help better us as humans. As I look back in time, there is at least one major lesson from each year that has helped shape me into the person I am today. Two of my greatest fears include abandonment and showing vulnerability to others. 2019, so far, has been teaching me that it is okay to detach myself if it is much needed, how to set boundaries, and to grow content with accepting and expressing my emotions as they are. Just a couple months ago, I got back into the habit of writing and reading regularly and I cannot stress how much of an impact this has made on my communicating skills. As someone who is so used to holding back and not reaching out, putting my thoughts down in a journal has made my intentions to myself and the outer world much clearer.

Aside from writing down my feelings, I've also begun recording my dreams each night. Thoughts and feelings from our subconscious emerge then. Writing down and analyzing them helps to give me a better understanding of what I need most, what I lack in my life, and why I ultimately feel what I feel. Do you have any specific regimen or ritual that you follow to help guide you mentally, emotionally, and spiritually? Sometimes it is okay, and absolutely necessary, to begin new self care practices as a way to heal ourselves. And that is exactly what I intend on doing.
