My garden has been alway been my oasis of joy. As spring rolls around I inspect the thawing dirt every day for new signs of life, each new shoot or tendril causing a stirring in me. Summer comes and I find respite in digging, weeding, deadheading and coaxing an abundance of blooms from my yard. But come autumn, I really revel. I love the signs of autumn - flower petals blown to the ground, seeds beginning to set, energy being stored deep in the ground. A palpable change in the weather and diminishing light remind me to slow down, clean up and get ready for the upcoming season of rest. I live by the changing of the seasons and am grateful to live where I can appreciate each one in all its glory.
