The Rain--It Came in Sheets
July 1, 2012 by
We had a strong storm blow through on Sunday afternoon–it was a shorter storm but caused some large damage. Some people still don't have power. Thank goodness I know of no one that was injured or had serious damage done to their houses or cars.
Strong gusts of wind, in excess of 100 miles per hour, caused the rain to be so thick and almost impossible to see through.
The trees were bent over, some trees are ‘stuck’ that way and bent still from the winds.
There was hail, up to penny and nickel-sized pieces. This is after the rain stopped. I went outside earlier to grab our garbage can that blew away, and this stuff hurt when it pelleted you! I used the garbage can lid to shield my head.
A pile of hail at my mom's house that rolled off the back of the deck.
I did not arrange these, this is how I found them.
Big branch snapped in our back yard. It was still attached, but it was hanging over the fence in our neighbors yard, almost taking down their electric line. Luckily, it was safely removed.
