Some bacteria growing on agar plates from my microbiology class. Some might find it gross, but it is interesting how diverse they are!

There are so many colors: yellow, white, cream, gray, and orange. Not to mention textures, or their cellular shape under the microscope…

Very fuzzy growth.

A different kind of agar, this was blood agar; if the bacteria hemolyzes the blood (ruptures the red blood cells) the agar turns clear in this area.
