Beduinando en Wadi Rum - Bedouining in Wadi Rum

Wikipedia says Wadi Rum is a valley cut into the sandstone and granite rock in southern Jordan, bordering Saudi Arabia. UNESCO declared it World Heritage Site in 2011.

The Wadi Rum desert scenes in the 1962 film Lawrence of Arabia kick-started Jordan's tourism industry. Other films followed (Transformers, Prometheus, Rogue One, The Rise of Skywalker, the 2021 version of Dune and others). The Petra + Wadi Rum package has become very popular with foreign tourists, so the area has seen a proliferation of bedouin resorts under every hill and dune, sometimes overstretching the Bedouin parafernalia...

Great pictures, as always!

Rabino, I am very sorry I have neglected my photoblog and the fellow Photobloggers for more than three months. The problem is, once I miss an entry, I postpone it to the next week and the following week and the following month and.... endless excuses NO MORE. “Horizon” will be up and running on Sunday (I mean this Sunday). Cheers, Piotr.

Looks a lot like the desert southwest of the USA (New Mexico, Ariziona, etc)
Nice camera work!
Do they have rattlesnakes & scorpions there?

Hi Jay!! thanks for lining and for the comment. Yup, it looks quite similar to pictures of desert landscapes from South USA I have seen here and in other fora... Scorpions, yes, lots... Snakes, I assume yes though I have seen none in Wadi Rum but in nearby areas, so it's a safe assumption there are snakes, certainly  the Palestinian Viper among them. Rattlesnakes are not common outside North America

Thanks for sharing such a beautiful series my friend. Love the colors you show and descriptions. Your shots make sandstone and granite look interesting, not boring.
