The o-cat-ional visitor

What better way to start something new on the Internet as with cats? Or, in this case, a cat. Since quite a while, a roaming cat occassionally visits us through our porch. She was very trusting and curious from the beginning. She has a very nice personality and quite good manners, too! And it is obvious that she is not homeless and in very good overall shape. Probably, she belongs somewhere in the neighbourhood. And because she is also a really beautiful exemplar of the species cat, I decided to start to portrait her on these occassional visits.

On warm summer days, she likes to sleep either on the warm stones of the porch or even on the porch's table (when noone is looking):

The garden of course is very interesting. Full of birds, insects and rodents such as mice:

She comes around every other day by now, and we let her into the apartment if she wants to. She looks around the rooms for what is new or what has changed, and most often will leave as quick as she came, but sometimes she decides to have a quick nap somewhere in the living room.

When the weather is not as harsh as it is during these days, her favourite place for a nap is on the chair next to my desk:

On these cold days however, her favourite place is either on a cushion on the heater or the cosy carpet here in the living room:

I'm sure she has got another name by her owner, but we like to call her Katyusha.

Well, we do hope she stays in good health. She seems to be a truly free spirit, and that's how we fell quite in love with her - even if she is not "our" cat.

What do you think - isn't she a real beauty?

Great set I esp like the low angle of #1 and the expression in #4

Thank you Pete. The #4 is a little reminiscent of "Shining" to me, just without the axe smile
