Montana/British Columbia - Polson held their annual Cherry Festival this past weekend. We went Saturday morning and found some local Flathead Cherries! They are delicious!
We also sampled a cherry turnover that was so good! We went with our neighbor, Tim and Nancy, and they picked up a cherry pie. They said it was better than the turnover. They have since been on the lookout for another cherry pie as good as the one from the festival, so far no luck.
Tuesday we dropped the boat off to have the trolling motor installed and decided to take a road trip. We headed west on Hwy 2 and found a couple nice lakes along the way. First we came to McGregor Lake, then Thompson Lake (Lower, Middle and Upper)
We drove around Bonners Ferry, ID then headed north into British Columbia. We turned off our phones as we don't have international coverage, so I don't have many pictures. We stayed in the town of Creston, BC. We walked around the town, got coffee, drinks at Jimmy's Pub and dined at an Asian Chinese Buffet. We took Cinder to the Goat River and we thought she was going for a drink and she jumped right in and swam.
Unfortunately due to all the fires it was very hazy when looking at the mountains.
One thing we noticed while driving in BC, there's no litter on the roads there are lots of turnouts with litter barrels we also saw lots of lakes and RV Parks, a lot of them had spaces for sale or lease. We drove by the Moyie Lake and River on the drive to Cranbrook, what an awesome lake and it's huge!
Stopped for breakfast in Eureka, MT and dined at a cute place called Cafe Jax. The place was hopping and it was decorated with lots of memorabilia. Driving south we drove by more lakes.
We picked up the boat on the way home. Trolling motor is installed and we can't wait to try it out.
