Montana - Here's some interesting info on Flathead Lake. Flathead Lake is the largest natural body of fresh water west of the Mississippi River. It's an 80 mile route beginning and ending at our RV Park. There are numerous cherry orchards along the east side of the lake. Now that the cherries are getting ripe, there are U Pick Them orchards and we will be checking them out!

On July 20th we picked up the boat on our way home from BC. We took the boat out on Flathead Lake to try out the new trolling motor (Jim read up on how it works).

The trolling motor is so awesome! It has a wireless remote (Jim wears it around his neck) and he can do all kinds of things. The most amazing thing is the "anchor" setting - it keeps you in one spot, just like you threw out the anchor!

We launched at the public boat launch, cruised around the lake, went by one of the many islands, went over to Finley Point and ended up in a bay east of our RV Park. Then the wind wind blew up and it looked like we were in the ocean!

Now we're ready to fish with the trolling motor so we head to McGregor Lake, about 1 1/2 hours west of Kalispell. It's a beautiful morning!

The water was so glassy we saw fish rings in the water.

I'd say we had a great day on the water!

Fabulous post, Kitty! I think you should submit it to "Fishing Magazine" with an offer to send them similar posts for publication, at $1,000 a pop. You might be surprised! By the way, I now want not only one the boats like your new one but also a trolling motor. That is so cool...an electric anchor! We're now in the Great Smoky Mountains and loving it.
