Montana - Tuesday we took a drive east of Big Fork to the Swan Lake, we plan to launch the boat there and wanted to check out where the boat launch is. Found the boat launch and there's a great State Campground across the street from it. We'll be fishing there next week.
Jim caught a couple rainbows in the stream, but didn't keep them
On the drive home we decided it time to pick cherries. We stopped at a stand, I picked up a bucket and they showed us where to go pick.
Now I want to pit the cherries and freeze them. That means we should probably go pick more cherries....what do you think? The season is almost over here.
Wednesday we finally went to Cherries for lunch, I mean it's been a while, right? We split a basket of 1/2 rack of ribs. Jim got,the beans and I got the coleslaw for sides. It was a hard decision not getting the ribbon fries. Jim saw their daily special "spicy pulled pork taquito" so he ordered 2, because taquitos are small appetizers, right?
Well they were a meal in itself, they measured 1 foot long and it was in a light flaky pastry, not a tortilla! We had leftover ribs and sides to take home.
Made a trip to Missoula today and on the way south we stopped the Windmill Bakery, which a fellow camper told us about. We split a fresh out of the oven huckleberry turnover. It was so light and flaky - sorry didn't take a picture. Also got donuts - there's only one type made and it's glazed. We had to wait while they cooked. I had a bite of Jim's donut (well, maybe I had a couple bites) and it was by far the tastiest donut I've ever had! Puts Krispy Kreme to shame.
We plan to do some fishing and I should have some fishing stories coming up.
