Montana - The fires in MT are affecting Polson and it's not healthy being outside. We haven't seen MT's beautiful blue skies in a while. I'm going to post some pictures of earlier this summer and now for comparison, although the pictures don't do justice to how bad it is.

There are fires north of us in Eureka and Glacier National Park, west of us in Libby, Thompson Falls and Plains, south of us in Philipsburg and Lolo and east of us at Seeley Lake, just to name a few. The west entrance to Glacier National Park has been closed, MacDonald Lake and Lodge has been closed and artifacts are being removed. Jim flew home last week and flying back out of San Francisco he saw fires and smoke the whole trip. Sunday our car was covered in ash. Air quality has been just under hazardous in Polson, so we decided to head home. I know of 2 more couples who plan to leave this weekend instead of staying thru the end of September. Another couple are from FL and don't know if they'll have a home to go back to after Hurricane Irma.

So no pictures of the trees changing colors this season. We plan to return next summer and hopefully things will be better. I will post some pics of our trip home. Jim is towing the trailer and I'm towing the boat.

It breaks my heart to see the destruction in that part of Montana. Of all the places we've visited, the Glacier/Flathead Lake area is one of our favorites! Be safe, you two, on the drive back to San Diego and please keep in touch.
