Well to start: I need to say that I have really dropped the ball on my blogging plans. I was hoping to write a post a week, but as we all know the Holiday season tends to be very busy. So over the next few days, while I am on vacation from work - I am going to do a few catch up posts - and then *hopefully* resume posting weekly!
I got pretty excited early on for Christmas decorating this year and I have been told it must be because of all the snow we received early on. In New Brunswick we were lucky to have snow on Christmas, and have often experienced rain or green Christmas's - so I love that that will not happen up here.
This beautiful nativity scene under my tree was given to me by my Fiance's sister Madison. I absolutely love it, and this year it went under my table Christmas tree. Normally I would have a normal sized tree, however when we moved we threw out our old tree and this year I decided to just buy a smaller 4ft tree to put on an end table - mostly to save money - and then I will upgrade next year.
I also received a ton of the window Christmas lights from one of Foster's Nans. I love that our apartment is the most decorated in the building as I have 2 of these on every window!
This year I also got together with Foster's Sister Ashley, to do some Christmas baking. We baked 2 whole Saturdays in November (probably a little too early as none were left for Christmas) but oh well haha. Here is the list of what we made:
- 5 Star Bars (1 Regular Batch & 1 Double Batch )
- Smartie Cookies (2 Batches)
- Chocolate Filled Strawberries
- M&M Cookie Bars
- Jam Jams
- Peanut Butter Reindeer Cookies
Overall it was a very successful Christmas baking mission! Everything turned out absolutely delicious, and like I said - nothing made it to Christmas.
Can't wait to do it again next Christmas!
