A busy weekend

So Friday night started with a Day of the Dead themed Iron Cupcake competition. I was not one of the bakers but £5 for all you can drink pots of tea and as many cupcakes as you can eat sounded like fun to me.

This is actually one of the winning cakes, it was a rum, banana and toffee daiquiri based cupcake and was delicious.

Saturday saw us at a wedding and this is the beautiful cake which had 3 different layers that were served later in the evening, a carrot cake layer, a chocolate cake layer and lemon cake layer. I only had the carrot cake but was not disappointed

As the wedding was at a golf club, we were reserved a balcony section to view the fireworks display, I was a little too cold in my posh frock to stay out for long but not a bad picture all in all.

After spending all day wanting to dance with her uncle, once Alexia got the chance to she was decidedly unimpressed that she had to share the dance floor with all these other people

Oh and how could I forget the sweetie bar also present. We came home with about 5 bags of sweets and not surprisingly a not so happy tummy ;-)

My idea of a great weekend! Love the idea of carrot cake along with the lemon and chocolate :-) Sweets bar was what tipped you over the top!
