Welcome PBers, I left you last week with my adventures in visiting Temple Mount. As I mentioned that day was a religious day for most of the country so to finish the day off we kept our sight seeing to non Jewish sites. We ventured outside of the city gates to the Garden Tomb.
To get there you need to leave through the Muslim quarter out into East Jerusalem. This quarter of the market reminded me of Marakkech, the market was full and busy and bustling and with real stalls, not so much of the tourist items. I don't know if this was normal or a time of day, but it was the busiest we had seen Old Jerusalem. Anyway, once out the walled city it is only a short walk to Garden Tomb, which is a piece of tranquility in comparison.
This site is believed to be the site Jesus was resurrected and it is a well kept garden, lots of nooks and crannies to sit and relax and places for people to sing hymns. I have no idea if this really was the site in question, but it was a nice place to visit.
With the day almost over, my next update will cover some of the wonderful sites on the way back home. Thank you for visiting and following my adventures
