I've been back on my travels in May and took a few days to visit Bratislava in Slovakia. It was not like the other cities I had been to, so much history, incredibly clean, but a little run down.
We arrived on an evening, so after checking into our apartment, we searched out dinner and purchasing the Bratislava City Card (gets you into places for free or at a discount and free travel) ready for the next morning, which is where this blog starts.
Almost every where that you walk throughout the city you see this interesting white castle also known as upside down table sat at the top of the hill. It's beautifully restored gates welcome you in and to look down towards Bratislava.
Wander around the grounds to view the baroque gardens that are being restored
Now if you are ready to escape some of the crowds (bus loads of tourists) get yourself into the ticket office (free with Bratislava card, although you still need to get it scanned) and head off inside to see all the restoration work and their SNM Historical Museum
Before you leave don't forget to grab yourself a photo of the view, whether from inside the castle or one of the many viewpoints from the castle gounds.
I'll be back soon with more of my adventures in Bratislava
