Day 5/365 ::MAGIC::

I thought today's theme was a bit difficult to figure out, but when I could see the sun rising up over the treetops today I knew what to do. Chasing the sun beams through the snow covered trees was not so easy when it was 12 degrees below zero and I left the house without gloves, only wearing a thin jacket. But I just had to try to get this one shot... I regret not using my polarizer filter, since the sky turned out a bit too bright, and the blue is not showing as much as it should. But lesson learned... Photographing snow is difficult anyway, but I think I managed to edit the photo as close as possible to how I could see it with my eyes.

Finally the sun is rising above the treetops again!

I also grabbed my camera later today, during the magical "Blue Hour". I just had to try to capture this beautiful scenery. The sky wasn't turning pink like yesterday, but it was just as amazing with the dark blue tone. I have no experience with this kind of photography, but I look forward to learn more, and maybe learn how to do some focus stacking to make the photos pop and get the overall sharpness. I've been using my tripod when capturing landscapes, but still learning how use my camera and the settings.

The magical "Blue Hour"

Thank you so much! It was the first time in many weeks since we saw the sun, so looking forward to having spring around the corner ;-)

Living in the middle of Australian summer I cannot help but be jealous of these amazing views. Together I really like how you've captured the contrasting warmth and coolness between these two images.

Really good shots, especially love the golden snow and sun glare on the first one. Its funny how you "see" the snow as white when it very rarely is! Have you tried taking bracketed shots and then stacking to expose bright skies and darker foreground? I've only tried it a couple of times with mixed results.

Thank you so much! I haven't tried the stacking yet, but will give it a try soon :)

I agree that the theme was hard to figure out. I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do. Great Shots! love them!
