Almost 12 years ago friends from Cebu brought us here and saw a true serentiy. A church by the sea with full of history. I was given a chance to go back to Dumaguete and my objective was to visit the place again… and so i did.

Church of St. Augustine of Hippo & Pipe Organ completed in 1865 it is situated by the sea and the main altar of the church recorded as the oldest in the province it is one of the main attraction for the devotees and tourists in the municipality. Its pipe organ from Zaragosa, Spain was installed in 1894 through the efforts of its first parish priest, Rev. Joaquin Soriano. The belfry, reputed to be the province’s tallest, with winding steps to the top, was used as a look-out point for seafaring pirates. - http://www.insidenegros.com/negros-oriental/municipality-bacong/ [insidenegros.com]
