Knitting

I found the perfect yarn at the dollar store. I bought 7 skeins. The only trouble was it is too thin for the sweater jacket I wanted to make. So, I decided to double it up with another heavier yarn that did not come from the dollar store. The price for my home-made jacket rose somewhat… understatement.

I have a pattern that makes a sweater all in one piece, no sewing except to tighten up a hole in the arm pit area. You start at the collar and work down. The pattern is very forgiving and I wing it most of the time. This time, for example.

Lesson learned. I love the mix of colors. I love the thickness and weight. I wish it fit me.

I stopped increasing around the shoulders about ten stitches too early… it will fit an emaciated adult or a really hip child. I am almost done and will finish it if only to attempt the thing again.

Argh.
