Nice weather in these parts

Got outside yesterday and did one of my favorite things… puttering in the yard. If I'm not carrying clippers or a trowel I'm carrying my camera. The hosta is shooting, pansies are still wonderful, some tulips have opened, and New Jersey's state flower, the violet, is popping up everywhere. I have violets in white, white violet, pale violet and dark violet. As the days go by they'll get bigger and the heart-shaped leaves will make clumps of little bouquets all through the lawn and flower beds. Cute but they are invasive.

The hosta in frame one will emerge with giant chartreuse leaves in a month or so. They look sorta spooky now in this lighting. :-)

Love hostas. Some of them do start out looking a bit under the weather??but they do shine later on. Love the set.
