Snow Moon Cloud Paintings

I wanted to take pictures of the Super Moon-Snow Moon tonight.

Normally, I would take a picture something like this

Super Moon

Super Moon

However, the moon was obscured by clouds, drifting past it's face. I knew I wouldn't get any detail tonight so I decided to play with some long exposures and do "cloud painting" instead (in honor of it being long exposure week).

These are some of my favorites from the experiment, please let me know which is your favorite and why...

As usual, I played with different settings for a variety of effects.

I hope you enjoyed my play date with the moon!

#3 is great - looks like the clouds are really moving across the face of the moon. Nice work!

Yeap #3 for me. Still some detail in it,there is movement from the clouds. And the overall mood stands out from the other ones. Well done, here we only had a white mysty ball

What a great idea for long exposures! I love the softness and blue color in #2, but #3 was a close second!

Thank you Bethany! It was fun! Thanks for telling me which you like and why!
I've learned to work with what we get! If I can't have the supermoon shot, I'll take what I can get!
