Hike up Mount Kilimanjaro

I love hiking, and this was one of the most rewarding trips I have ever taken, despite airline delays, lost luggage, and altitude sickness. The terrain was beautiful and was incredibly varied over the 7 day hike.

Dense green forest.

We quickly started to gain in elevation, to be able to see the landscape around us.

As we hiked we could see the clouds getting closer until we were walking in the rain.

From lush greenery to harsh, rocky terrain.

Made it to Stella Point, one of the stops on the rim of Mount Kilimanjaro, altitude of 18,800 feet.

That is me on the left with one of our guides on the right.. If your first thought is that I look terrible, it’s only because I’m freezing and having a difficult time breathing at this altitude.
