My husband, two dogs, and I spent the weekend driving from Tucson, AZ to Little Rock, AR. Our first leg of the journey, from Tucson to Albuquerque via Hwy 60 to I-40, was a beautiful drive.
The first four pictures were taken along the highway between Globe, AZ and Show Low, AZ.
The next couple of pictures are in El Malpais National Monument, NM. According to the National Park Service, the area is a diverse volcanic landscape with lava flows, lava tube caves, and sandstone bluffs (https://www.nps.gov/elma/index.him). It’s definitely a place I would like to explore.
Our second day of driving was I-40 from Albuquerque to Oklahoma City. There are no pictures from that day. The landscape didn’t inspire me to stop and grab the camera. The final day from Oklahoma City to Little Rock was much more scenic, unfortunately it rained almost the whole day.
There are wineries in Arkansas! We made an impromptu stop at this winery, Chateau Aux Arc.
It was nice to finally get out and do something, even if it was just a three day road trip from point A to point B. I hope I'm able to have more pictures from my adventures this summer. Thanks for reading!
