Lines (74/365)

"Invisible" lines which only the camera can "see"

"Invisible" lines which only the camera can "see"

On a highway there are not only solid lines marking the edges of the lanes but also dashed lines in the middle of the road and lines which are formed by guardrails, but there are also lines which are formed by the lights of vehicles as they are picked up by the camera's sensors. These lines are invisible to the human eye.

This was the first time for me to capture long exposure of lights on a highway. I had wanted to try this experiment for some time now and last week the weather was mild and dry.

Interrupted lines

Interrupted lines

By the time it was completely dark, the traffic had subsided so there were interruptions in the lines, or there was traffic only in one direction. In the fall when it is darker during the "rush hour" I'll probably get better results.

The series is also the elapsed time of commuters: from many ... to few... to almost none. I hope you enjoyed it.

Thank you! it's fun because in contrast to short exposures, you don't really know what the result will be

Must say , you have a good result here. Tried it a few times and never came out the way I wanted. I se you use the same camera I have, and happy with it? I am.

Good morning Peter, thank you!
Yes, I like the Fujifilm camera because it is so light and I can take it with me more often.  I'm still getting used to it and for these shots I used the remote control app on my phone for the shutter release, have you tried that? Its weird to use 2 "cameras" to take one picturesmile

Morning Lee, yes I have used it and it works fine. I use the XT10 for about 2y now and love it. Would like to have the XT30 ( saving up for that ). Do you have any primes already for your camera? Fuji lenses are great but not the cheapest ones. But I must say the cheaper XC series lenses are pretty fine, and i use it still a lot. Have fun.

I've only got the "standard issue" lens for the XT10 right now. My next investment will be in a lens with tele. I had also considered a macro lens, however, they are very expensive and not so versatile and  the extension tube is sufficient for the type of macros I'm doing right now. Good to know we have the same equipment in case I have a question smile
