I love the way you did this prompt . While watermellon isnt by favorite fruit mainly because of the summers I spent working in and around watermellon fields I do love the way you did this.

Thanks! I understand about the food aversion. I became a vegetarian after working in the quality department of a meat producing (hot dogs, canned ham, cold cuts…) company as a summer job. After just 2 days I stopped eating meat (as it turns out, for life, that was over 30 years ago) and after 2 weeks I asked for a transfer to a different department

Super cool, Lee! On first sight I thought, you photoshoped it, but than I saw #3 and no, that's no Photoshop... smile100

Thank you Heike! I must be more creative or work better under pressure because up to the night before I had no idea for the watermelon, but I knew I could not just capture it as a normal piece of food…then inspiration struck! And my wonderful husband helped out

Thank you Piotr, It‘s so rewarding to hear that I inspired you.
What has helped me was the recognition that either the subject itself is fascinating or the photographer has to find a way to make an ordinary object interesting.

I think making something ordinary interesting is the harder way. And you did it so well - congratulations smile

Thank you so much Bethany, but I do have to give credit to my husband for his help with the „execution“ 😜

Thank you! I‘ve just started working out with weights, I think that somehow triggered the idea…

Thanks Bob, I can‘t remember when you joined the challenge but the food/fruit ones bring out my creative powers, I took an axe to an orange in one blog

I just posted an alternative post to the "watermelon" challenge.  One of my photos has a note for you beneath it.

Thanks Bjoern, you know how much I dislike the fruit challenges, but they do somehow trigger my creative powers.
Nah, he didn’t eat the rind, he spit it out.
