Round or Circle?

Round or Circle?

Preparing for today's blog, I asked myself: what's the difference between circle and round? The answer: circle is two-dimensional and round is three-dimensional.

I drove past this field this morning on my way to work and said to myself: that's it! Roundness all around :-) ... I'll go back tonight during the golden hour ...

The objective of today's blog is to focus on the form of the object and find the best way to emphasize its shape.

But I couldn't resist emphasizing its texture as well. In post-processing I punched up the sharpness because black & white is ideal to emphasize the texture.

I am not a fan of sepia (at all) but somehow I really like it for this motive.

It was brutally hot today, almost 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius).

Rounding out my series of roundness ... a final round of a round hay bale.

Hope you enjoyed it.

What a beautiful set! Each photo has such wonderful (and different) compositional elements. I especially like the lines and shadows in #5 and the light in #4.

Thanks Trinicia! The Fuji lens prefers to make a red spot instead of a flare so I had to work at it but was rewarded with the rainbow

Nice series and my favorites are #1, #4, & #5. I like #1 for the composition, #4 because of the sun flare and the various colors, and #5 for the leading lines..

Thanks Camellia especially for the  detailed feedback about why you liked what you did. It‘s very helpful because I didn‘t expect the color photos to be so well received.
