Sunflower at Sunset

Bethany inspired me to publish these sunflower photos because they are another somewhat different "take" on a very well-known motive.

About a week ago, shortly before 10 p.m. I looked out the kitchen window and saw the most amazing colors in the sky. So I grabbed my camera and moved quickly down the path to the field nearby our house (about 100 meters)

As I was taking the photos, the owner of the field rode by on his bicycle and stopped. He was curious about the pictures and told me that he had also planted the the Phacelia. I gave him the link to this blog. I suppose he will be a little surprised to learn that his flowers are seen around the world.

So beautiful, Lee! I've never thought to shoot sunflowers at night, and what an incredible sky - totally worth running for. Thank you for sharing this! smile

Thanks Camellia - most of the time I'm so concentrated on getting the shot for the challenge that I don't have time or think to post all of the other things I've captured along the way... glad you liked it. As I mentioned to Sherry, I just updated the blog because I forgot to mention just how very spontaneous this photo shooting was. I ran out of my house in my sandals and baggy/ugly "home clothes" and was more than a little embarrassed to have to meet someone looking like that...
