Unchain my heart, set me free
Week 6: Rule of Thirds on 52frames.com
The inspiration for this photo is Valentine's Day on February 14th.
All over the world lovers place a heavy metal lock in a public location (bridges and other structures) as a symbol of their love. However, not everyone is happily in love on Valentine's Day.
This photo speaks to all the broken-hearted people who cannot get over a lost love.
When I saw the strong lock on a very heavy chain, I heard the Joe Cocker song in my mind: "Unchain my heart, set me free...'cause you don't love me no more".
Lee- the image in and of itself is compelling. I noticed that the lock is placed in a position along the chain that locks nothing. It makes me think- so many people have placed locks and chains around themselves when in fact those locks do nothing and the chains can easily come off freeing them to be themselves. All that from your image!
Wow, that‘s really insightful! Indeed, nothing is „locked up“. Nonetheless its hard to see the situation objectively when you feel emotionally so „trapped“.
I‘m so glad you shared your thoughts on this image - really interesting aspect I had not considered!
