Fall Colors - Dark Photography

Dark Red

Dark Red

The fall colors are spectacular in southwestern Germany right now and I'm planning to make several posts related to the topic of "fall colors".

This post features the dark photography technique and is a metaphor for the dark phase I have gone through the past few months.

Cornucopia

Image #2 reminds me of the "horn of plenty" - the cornucopia. In post processing I enhanced the intensity of the colors while reducing the light in the raw file.

The following Image #3 is the "normal" lighting of the same subject created using the same raw file.

Rosaceae - Mehlbeeren (Sorbus)

I'm not completely out of the "woods" with my dark mood yet, however, I am feeling well enough to post this blog which is a good sign - like the final image - t there's now light coming through to me through the trees.

So nice yo hear from you. The colors are warm and dark ,nice. I prefer the colors from the XT10 over the XT30

Good morning Peter! Thanks for the feedback! And esp about the T-10!! Today I‘m going to check out cameras which are lighter weight and easier to take along. Perhaps a bridge or compact camera, in addition to the Fuji. We‘ll see.

Hey , if you not need a zoomfunction. I would recommend buying the XF27mm f2.8 pancakelens from Fuji for your XT10. It is very small, fast, razorsharp and great colors. You can even put your camera in your pocket than. I bought it second hand and it is a lot on my XT10. It is a great walk around combination;

Thanks for the great tip! I‘ll check that out. Currently I‘m using the zoom mostly, but going back to prime might help improve my skills/technique
