Winter Sunsets

Red skies at night - Fuji

Winter is not all darkness and grey, sometimes there are sunsets with incredible color intensity.

This blog inserts some color contrast in-between my monochrome/dark winter blogs. It seems to be: the more brillant the sunset, the less prepared I was to capture it. Lesson learned: always, always have a camera with you.

Photo #1 - While doing dishes one evening, I looked out the kitchen window and could not believe what I saw. I grabbed the Fuji, set to automatic mode, ran out of the house without putting on a coat and shot directly from my front yard.

Photo #2 While out for a short walk with only my iphone in my coat pocket, I was completely surprised by the intensity of the colors of this sunset. I think the iphone did a good job to capture the brillance.

There was no post processing on either photo.
