Morning started with a lovely breakfast from the local bakery on the veranda at Belfry Guesthouse. We did the Promised Land track this morning- it's extremely beautiful - and stopped off at Never Never Creek.
We hit up the Gelato Bar because.. why not and then hit the road to Nambucca. Only a short trip, this was a bit of a rest day.
Distance: 24 miles / 38 kms
On arrival, we scouted out some fish and chips and sat in the car out of the wind on the headland. Pretty much half way down on my journey!
I have been really touched by people's generosity and kindness whilst planning and doing this bike ride. We stayed at an airbnb in Nambucca and the lovely couple gifted the room for us for free "to help those who help others". With the recent attacks in London and Manchester, and all the bad that is happening in the world, it's a gentle reminder that there are good people doing good things daily.
Part of doing the bike ride is to get up and face the challenge on behalf of those who can't or don't feel they can. I hope that my journey resonates with someone reading and hope that it inspires others in some way, shape or form.
Highlights: idyllic morning in Bellingen, kindness of Peter and Knesia and evening clouds off Nambucca Heads
Lowlights: random bump in back wheel
