Rosie's Cafe, John's River

Today the kms started to ramp back up!

Distance: 46 miles / 74kms

A grey and 'freezing' day, the ominous weather reports of torrential rain in the south started to look more likely...

Having followed signs for 5km saying 'scones', I reached Rosie's Cafe at Johns River. It was the perfect rest spot and I could finally stop drooling over the idea of a warm drink & scones.

Maybe I should have started from the cold in Sydney and worked my way back up to the tropics!

I arrived in Taree in the afternoon to a lovely airbnb on the Manning River- the host had made vegetable soup and I then proceeded to sit in the bath eating carrots for about two hours!

Highlights: scones and cycling through the green Manning Valley and first bath of the trip

Lowlights: first day of coat wearing
