"Forgiving who you are,
For what you stand to gain,
Just know that if you hide,
It doesn't go away."
- "Little dark age" by MGMT
...As I held this old Halloween mask in my hands, the story of a horseman was born in my head...
The horseman lives inside of you and me. He stares at the old holiday adverts, quiet cafes and empty offices. He yearns and craves for familiarity, comfort and old routine, things that might be long gone now. How will you feed him now? Your horseman will not go away. It will be there on every street corner, reminding you of all the uncomfortable feelings you refuse to face.
The city and the streets that were once so mundane now turned into something uncomfortable to look at, like an itch, that annoying feeling you just can't shake off. What purpose do these places serve us now? Do they need us more than we need them?
