PS, this tree has not had any bark in over 4 years since I've lived here.

I hope my buddy Marjorie likes these. This tree has no bark. Maybe the owners stripped it off, I really don't know. I hope it doesn't hurt the tree. It is so beautiful in person.

I am a very tactile person. It has gotten me asked to leave museums before. I can't help it, I like to feel things. I just want to run my hands all over this tree.

Isn't it lovely?

and once in black and white for Marjorie

This is a very interesting and elegant looking tree. You know, Portgual is a great producer of cork, which is removed from the cork-oak when the tree is 25-30 years old and then later all 9 years, leaving the trees naked, too.

I think Marzijapan is right. I think this is some sort of birch tree. Nice shots!

Its some type of birch tree, they shed a layer of thin smooth bark every year, beautiful photos Felecia :)
