Vacation: All 7 Days- Morning Glory Bed & Breakfast

If you're ever going to Salem, MA for any reason, you shouldn't even consider staying anywhere other than
?The Morning Glory Bed & Breakfast! [morningglorybb.com]?

There is just no way I could possibly convey everything there is to love about this charming, warm, welcoming gem. If we are ever lucky enough to go back, we won't even consider staying any place else.

It feels like “home” [youtube.com]

Our plane got in late when we arrived so the fabulous hosts of the Morning Glory were not available to greet us, but they left this taped to the door with the keys. I loved it.

The main entrance. It is absolutely gorgeous and is right across the street from the House of the Seven Gables and the Nathanial Hawthorne house. It is absolutely enchanting!

All of the guest rooms are named for condemned “witches” who were hanged. We stayed in the Elizabeth Howe room.

Elizabeth's marker at the Old Burial Point.

There were glasses with Rocher chocolates under them when we arrived. Just one of the many little details that make the Morning Glory so special.

The Elizabeth Howe room. It has its own private entrance onto a lovely second floor porch with a gorgeous view.

Every morning Marcel would make the most delectable breakfasts like this french toast with fresh fruit, or the best blueberry muffins I've ever had in my life. He also makes scrumptious baked beans. I know you're probably thinking “baked beans for breakfast?” I'd eat his baked beans any time day or night. These were always accompanied by Bob's delicious homemade granola, fresh fruit, various baked goods including the famous “cheesy bread,” Marcel's homemade marmalade, juice, and hot tea or coffee.,

I never eat breakfast at home but I ate breakfast there every morning and believe it or not, I LOST 3 lbs. How the hell does that work??

The Common Area- a lovely place to sit and read or get on the guest computer to print directions to one of the many historic sites nearby.

There is a guest refrigerator with free bottled water, a guest microwave & coffee maker with an assortment of coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and sometimes, the bakery Gods leave wonderful breads/muffins out there. :)

You can imagine I loved this sign.

The second story porch off the Elizabeth Howe room. It has a truly beautiful view day or night.

I saved the best for last. The BEST thing about the Morning Glory is Bob and Marcel. You will not find 2 more warm, welcoming, considerate, funny, lovely people anywhere. We both fell in love with them almost instantly. From the first time you meet them you can feel their warmth and genuineness and you just want to hug the hell out of them. They are remarkable people and I wish we had a little more time to sit and talk with them.

♥Bob and Marcel, we love and miss you!♥

I've really enjoyed taking some time to see this lovely place with you! What a treat it must have been to stay there! It reminded me of a song (you're not old enough to remember!) called "Morning Glory" by Glen Campbell and Bobbie Gentry. I always loved it!

Don't know how you discovered this place from way across the country but it looks fantastic! Your shots are wonderful...I think you should quit your job and you and Derek should travel all over the country trading your photos for a few nights in B&Bs! What a life that would be! Shhh...don't tell the captains I said so;)). ((((Feebs))))
