Spring Comes Slowly

  • Posted March 26, 2009 by Marsha Viewed 700 times

Green Mountain Falls, Colorado

Spring comes slowly to the mountains.
Not in a burst of color, buds, and flowers.
No budding leaves or warm soil…not yet.

Instead the subtle thaw begins.
Ponds, lakes and streams respond to warmth.
It’s the first sign – the earth is waking up.

Gosh it does come slowly, doesn't it. Love the geese amongst the broken ice - I never understand how their feet don't freeze. Wonderful pictures, as ever :-)
