A comment by LysMandala [photoblog.com] on my blog last week really hit home with me. She mentioned the simple blessing of being able to walk without assistance. As some of you may remember in April I fractured my ankle while out hiking and shooting. The footwear I had on was not appropriate for the trails and rocks in the area, and I paid the price for not being more careful.
After surgery I was dependent on crutches and/or a walking boot to get around for about two months. The hiking boots in these shots were the first purchase I made after I could walk comfortably again and they’re now on my feet whenever I go out shooting.
Friends, please learn from my experience! Take care especially when you’re out shooting, because if you’re like me sometimes you need to stop and think to take care of yourself instead of taking chances just to get that shot.
