Oops, I didn't pay close enough attention to Mystic's theme for today….“weather” stuck in my head instead of “weatherED!” A little embarrassing, but oh well, the post goes up anyway ;)))

A great place to capture weather conditions is the high plains of western Kansas and eastern Colorado. I shot these on a recent car trip from east to west….and they're in sequential order starting from about 2 p.m. through about 9 p.m.

The new and the old….

A very large “dust devil” (like a mini-tornado) that formed in a field next to the highway.

Storm clouds begin to gather….

Rain storms sweep across the plains…

Calm after the storm….

Sooo many excellent shots in this series, Marsha! We've seen lots of those large windmills as we've driven the midsection of the country, but your capture is special - into my favs!

#2 – I'm delighted! Great configuration (thematic) and composition (optic). I'm fan of clouds also, strong #4 and #6.

Great and dramatic weather shots. You know I love clouds, but haven't seen here almost none in these last 3 month. Do yo have twisters in this location?

You aren't going to believe this, but I have that exact photo of #2. It's that wind farm past Ellsworth, right? I even took it at the same angle!! Mine was slightly blurred, not as clear as yours. These are great for the theme and Mystic did imply that we could use something that has to do with weather. Very nice set.
