MOP: Products and Marketing - The Green Cross

Map of World - Cannabis Laws [upload.wikimedia.org]

More MOPS….. HERE. [photoblog.com]

There's a substance that people have been using for a long time illegally that is currently being marketed and sold in this area. The product is cannabis, more commonly known in the US as marijuana.

It's legal to buy, use, and possess marijuana in Colorado now if you have an official card from a doctor that says you need it for medical purposes. Word on the street is that just about anyone can get a medical card….enough said.

Here in the Colorado Springs area dozens of marijuana dispensaries have sprouted up over the past several months in old homes, strip malls, deserted stores, you name it. Most of them display a green cross on the outside of the building which is the symbol for what they sell.

I do not use marijuana, and am neither condoning nor censuring its use. Just reporting on this interesting turn of events!

MMJ = Medical Marijuana

This is the only MMJ provider (so far) in my little mountain town.

The variety of names you see for these places is quite interesting! Looks like this one set up shop in an old fast food place. I'm not making this up!

Fascinating post. It's still illegal here (although I'm not sure how often the police prosecute for use/possession) but there is some demand for the ability to use it medically as I understand it is good for pain relief in some conditions such as MS. I can't help feeling such an arrangement needs to be very carefully controlled though.

LOL. Great set. When I lived in Anchorage in the late seventies/early eighties it was legal to possess, and SMOKE it in public as long as you weren't carrying more than one ounce. Don't know what's happened since then...

The world is changing! I never used it, but I must admit that I'm curious, I heard it is especially good for old people to have a better quality of life, without pains. Great report!

That 'brand' is popular there! I haven't noticed any around here, but maybe I haven't looked in the right places. Interesting!

Very, very interesting Marsha. I had not heard of these Green Crosses before... But then again I live backwards ass Florida, where they're thinking of outlawing 'spitting'...

Great post Marsha! It's the same here. They actually have "marijuana bars" in Portland.
Somehow, I don't like to think about if my surgeon had been high and stuff like that.

I've seen it very close to elementary schools and think they need to get a little more control. I guess this has probably made it much easier for those inclined to use it, but don't think it has much to do with medicine!

Well done Marsha..Of course people jump on something and abuse it's sale and/or use..My sister had inoperable cancer in 1988 and they offered her marijuana for the pain..she refused, saying then she would need a drink too..laughed about it since she was a recovered alcoholic..meds they gave her did very well without the weed..

each poison has as well a medical impact, I would be curious if this discussion would have found place if the development would have been vice versa means first a medicine and then a drug.

"organic meds". That's a new one :-) We recently had a "hemp fest" in Seattle, I was really wanting to go and get some pictures, because I was really curious as to what they were actually allowed to sell. I thought that would've made a very interesting photo op!!

Interesting post it is illegal here in India, but still some people use it,I think it is not a good idea to use it as later they may try hard drugs.
