*We are HOME now….safe and sound! Everything looks great in Woodland Park except that a little smoke fills the air from the fire still burning east of here beyond the ridge. Thank goodness, firefighters' containment of the fire creeps nearer toward the 100% goal every day.

Yesterday a special friend (who many of you know!) and her husband visited us at Eleven Mile State Park. We had a great time visiting, shooting, hiking, and eating a yummy lunch!

Word got around very quickly that a famous bird-shooter would soon be arriving on the premises :)))

Any guesses who she is?
Cool camo lens, huh?

Give up? Check out her blog RIGHT HERE! [photoblog.com]

On a boulder next to the trail someone had set up a configuration of smaller rocks. We had no idea what it all means….

Ha! Glad I had a shot to include here with Sher's favorite color. Sneaky Sher caught me snapping this one (see her post).

A view from the trail over the cove and lake. By the way, last summer Sara (nellybly [photoblog.com]) and her husband camped here and they hiked this trail which is near Coyote Ridge campground. She's been telling me to do it for almost a year now….soooo….LOOK, Sara ;))) Thanks for the heads-up, my friend, it's a BEAUTIFUL trail! Wish you could have been there to hike it with us!!!!!!

I think I would stay a little longer at this wonderful place and with such a good company :)) Lovely shots again Marsha. Now, after the fires heard about bad thunderstorms in some states there, damaging pretty much. So sad.

Great job of weaving the two PB'ers together Marsha. Cool shots. I am surprised that the water level is that high. When I have been out there before, I remember it being down.

Wonderful Marsha! I think the stones have something to do with geo-caching?

Great set! My favorites are #2, 5, and 6. I love your natural framing around your Mystery visitor on # 2! And the look you got on # 6 is outstanding!

Wow, Marsha, #6 is fabulous! I thought you were shooting the Indian Paintbrush but no, you were shooting a barb with it in the background! Wonderful..to favs. Love your shot of that wonderful scene..you must have climbed a tree or on top of the rocks to get that!
