After the Burn

by Marsha November. 13, 2018 249 views

The Hayman Fire, the largest forest fire in Colorado history (140,000 acres) burned very near this spot in 2002. In fact, you can see many burned trees on that mountain. Shot this yesterday and hope we continue to get plenty of snow this winter because if we do it will lessen the chances of forest fires in the area for 2019.

I was living in Colorado Springs during the Waldo Canyon fire. Burn areas are pretty mind-blowing!
I love the light on the mountain in this photo.

We were living in Woodland Park - very scary. We were told that evac was to begin so we took the camper and got out early. Evac didn’t happen, but never regretted leaving just in case.
