Escalante Canyon (Colorado)

The Gunnison River and feeder streams run through the middle of this picturesque 600 million year old canyon with huge rock formations on one side and fertile fields on the other. Lots of human history in this area which includes hunting grounds of Ute Tribes, territory of Spanish explorers, and settlements of early miners and pioneers. Drove through this area a couple weeks ago while we were camped near Delta, Colorado. Was a fascinating drive!

Age of the earth doesnt factor for me since we really dont know (young earth vs old age naturalism)- what is inspiring to me is that we are here to appreciate it in the first place! Your images are just that- inspiring!

That’s getting kinda deep. Will have to google to learn more about it. Do know matter how old or young, the canyon was gorgeous the day I visited and I thoroughly enjoyed 😊
